Basketball Game Preview: Leander Lions vs. Lockhart Lions

The Leander Lions will venture away from home to face off against the Lockhart Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lockhart took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Leander, who comes in off a win.

Leander will bounce into Tuesday's contest after beating Rouse, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Leander snuck past Rouse with a 40-35 victory on Friday. The win was all the more spectacular given the Lions' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 603rd, while the Raiders are ranked 218th).

Meanwhile, Lockhart took a blow against Cedar Park on Friday, falling 70-26. The defeat continues a trend for the Lions in their matchups with the Timberwolves: they've now lost five in a row.

Lockhart's loss dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Leander, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 9-15 record.

Leander lost to Lockhart on the road by a decisive 59-44 margin in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Can Leander avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
