Basketball Game Preview: Byron Eagles vs. Ovid-Elsie Marauders

Byron is 0-10 against Ovid-Elsie since December of 2019 but things could change on Friday. The Byron Eagles just played last yesterday, but they'll still welcome the Ovid-Elsie Marauders at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

If Ovid-Elsie heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when Byron took over last week. Byron came out on top against Genesee by a score of 50-39 on Thursday. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Wolves recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Ovid-Elsie, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They blew past Lakeville, posting an 86-44 victory. The Marauders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 contests by 24 points or more this season.

Ovid-Elsie pushed their record up to 16-5 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.0 points over those games. As for Byron, their victory bumped their record up to 5-15.
