Baseball Game Preview: Hopedale Blue Raiders vs. Milford Scarlet Hawks

Hopedale hasn't had much luck against Milford recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Blue Raiders will face off against the Scarlet Hawks at 6:30 p.m. Hopedale's pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so Milford's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Hopedale easily dispatched Advanced Math & Science Academy on Monday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Blue Raiders fell just short of Bay Path RVT by a score of 6-4 on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Milford hadn't done well against Taunton recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Scarlet Hawks walked away with a 4-1 victory over the Tigers.

Hopedale's loss dropped their record down to 14-6. As for Milford, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-13 record this season.

Hopedale might still be hurting after the 13-3 defeat they got from Milford in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Blue Raiders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
