Football Recap: Marble Falls Snaps Five-Game Streak of Losses at Home

Marble Falls had lost five games at home dating back to last season, but after bumping their record up to 3-3 on Friday that streak is in the rearview. Everything went their way against the Devine Warhorses / Arabians as they made off with a 36-14 win. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 22-0.

Marble Falls got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Crawford Mattox out in front who rushed for 65 yards and one TD, and also threw for 70 yards and one touchdown. Diego Aguilar helped out on the ground, rushing for 110 yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Marble Falls was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 268 rushing yards. They are a perfect 3-0 when they've run for more than 200 yards.

Marble Falls didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Quavyon Alexander and Gregory Lemon. Alexander got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

As for Devine, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5. The contest marked their lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Despite the loss, Devine still got an impressive performance from ENOCH HALL, who picked up 126 receiving yards and one score, and also rushed for 73 yards.

Marble Falls and Devine will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Mustangs are set to take on their familiar foe Burnet at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Devine will square off against rival Carrizo Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
