Briza Flores leads Highland to victory over Sterling

Recap: Highland Huskies vs. Sterling Tigers

The Highland Huskies won the last time they faced the Sterling Tigers, and things went their way on Friday too. Highland took down Sterling 50-31. The win made it back-to-back wins for Highland.

It was another big night for Briza Flores, who scored 14 points along with seven steals and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Mary Jones, who scored six points along with six rebounds.

Sterling's loss came despite strong showings from Tatym Dempcy and Ashlynn Storch. Dempcy scored nine points along with seven rebounds, while Storch scored 11 points along with five rebounds. Dempcy also posted two blocks for the first time this season.

Highland is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 4-4 record this season. As for Sterling, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 4-4.

Highland won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Y at 2:30 p.m. on January 6th. Hopefully Y focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 28 back in December of 2023.
