Basketball Recap: Illinois Math & Science Academy Takes a Loss

Illinois Math & Science Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 60-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Aurora Central Catholic Chargers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Titans of the 53-31 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.

Illinois Math & Science Academy's loss dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Aurora Central Catholic, their victory ended an 11-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-17.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Illinois Math & Science Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against DePue at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Illinois Math & Science Academy is facing DePue at the right time seeing as DePue is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Aurora Central Catholic, they will also get right back to it: they'll face off against Providence-St. Mel at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Providence-St. Mel has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
