Softball Recap: Notre Dame Academy Takes a Loss

Notre Dame Academy's last matchup with Marian could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's match on Saturday. The Eagles came up short against the Mustangs, falling 12-6. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 on Saturday.

Camdyn Escobar was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three stolen bases, and three runs. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Payton Shively, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for Notre Dame Academy and nudges their season record down to 9-12. As for Marian, they now have a winning record of 7-6-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Notre Dame Academy will host Richard at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Marian, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Lumen Christi Catholic at 4:30 p.m. The Titans' pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so the Mustangs' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
