Lyons hadn't done well against Glenbard West recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Lyons Lions were the clear victor by a 54-34 margin over the Glenbard West Hilltoppers. The Lions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matches by 20 points or more this season.

Lyons' win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 4-4. As for Glenbard West, they moved to 8-1 with that defeat, which also ended their eight-game winning streak.

Lyons won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Oak Lawn at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Oak Lawn knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six games -- so hopefully Lyons likes a good challenge. As for Glenbard West, they and St. Charles North will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played.
