Baseball Recap: St. Lawrence Seminary Comes Up Short

St. Lawrence Seminary extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 12 on Saturday, dropping their season record down to 0-7 in the process. They came up short against the Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah Resorters, falling 7-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Resorters this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-0 back in April.

As for Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-5. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by seven runs or more this season.

For Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah's part, Cole Wagner made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 18 over seven innings pitched. Wagner has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah is undefeated when Wagner posts two or more runs, but 4-5 otherwise.

In other batting news, Trayden Rebedew was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April.

St. Lawrence Seminary does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah, they will host Hilbert at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
