Baseball Recap: Wakefield Picks Up Fourth Straight Win on the Road

Wakefield proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by 11) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Heritage Huskies, sneaking past 3-2. The Wolverines haven't had any issues with the Huskies recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Garrett Ransom tossed a big game, pitching six innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Wakefield's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Eli Gross, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

Wakefield pushed their record up to 18-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Heritage, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-11.
