Whittier RVT's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Salem Witches 3-2. The win was some much needed relief for the Wildcats as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.
It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Whittier RVT got the one that really mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 19-25, 25-23, 18-25, 15-10.
Despite the loss, Salem still got an impressive performance from Bryce Harrington, who had 27 assists and six digs. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Catbagan, who had ten digs.
Whittier RVT's victory bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Salem, their defeat was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-5.
Whittier RVT has already played their next matchup (against Collegiate Charter School of Lowell), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
