Baseball Recap: Malakoff Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Malakoff can now relate to. They fell just short of the Hughes Springs Mustangs by a score of 5-3 on Friday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-3 on Thursday.

Malakoff saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mike Jones, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

This is the second loss in a row for Malakoff and nudges their season record down to 16-13. As for Hughes Springs, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 24-6.

Malakoff does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hughes Springs, they have already played their next match, a 6-5 victory against Gunter on the 15th.
