Baseball Recap: Horizon Comes Up Short

Horizon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of The Villages Charter Buffalo.

Michael Singer was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Sebastian Davila was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Horizon's loss dropped their record down to 11-10. As for The Villages Charter, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season.

Horizon wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 5-2 defeat against West Orange on the 3rd. As for The Villages Charter, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against IMG Academy Blue at 7:00 p.m. The Ascenders will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Buffalo surely won't give up without a fight.
