Basketball Recap: Cypress Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

Cypress won the last time they faced La Salle and things went their way on Saturday too. The Cypress Centurions walked away with a 64-55 victory over the La Salle Lancers. Given the Centurions' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 135th, while the Lancers are ranked 713th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Cypress' win bumped their record up to 14-7. As for La Salle, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last 11 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cypress will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Canyon at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for La Salle, they will welcome Verbum Dei Jesuit at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
