Softball Recap: New Prairie Now 7-1 over Last Eight Games

New Prairie hadn't done well against South Bend Saint Joseph recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Cougars were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over the Huskies. Considering the Cougars have won four games by more than seven runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Ella Chelminiak was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Abby Harmon, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs.

New Prairie was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as South Bend Saint Joseph only posted a batting average of .059.

New Prairie has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.9 runs on average over those games. As for South Bend Saint Joseph, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
