New Prairie hadn't done well against South Bend Saint Joseph recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Cougars were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over the Huskies. Considering the Cougars have won four games by more than seven runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Ella Chelminiak was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Abby Harmon, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs.
New Prairie was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as South Bend Saint Joseph only posted a batting average of .059.
New Prairie has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.
