Baseball Recap: Westfield Find Success

Westfield's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They came out on top against the Greenwood Christian Academy Cougars by a score of 4-0. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Shamrocks also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.

JP Mears looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four).

On the hitting side, Ian Wilson was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Garrett Pohler also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Westfield's record is now 13-8. As for Greenwood Christian Academy, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 11-9.

Westfield has already played their next game, an 11-0 victory against Columbus North on the 13th. As for Greenwood Christian Academy, they will challenge Muncie Burris at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
