Softball Game Preview: Bob Hope Eagles vs. Good Samaritan HomeSchool Hornets

The Bob Hope Eagles will head out to square off against the Good Samaritan HomeSchool Hornets at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bob Hope has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the match with six straight defeats, while Good Samaritan HomeSchool will come in with 11 straight wins.

Bob Hope played against Zavalla on Tuesday and lost via forfeit.

Good Samaritan HomeSchool will bounce into Tuesday's game after beating Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Good Samaritan HomeSchool had just enough and edged out Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool 2-1.

Kinley Fife made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 14 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Fife wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Hannah Brown, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one double. That stolen base marked the first that Brown snagged this season.

Good Samaritan HomeSchool's victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 9.1 runs. As for Bob Hope, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.

Bob Hope might still be hurting after the 24-0 defeat they got from Good Samaritan HomeSchool in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can Bob Hope avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
