Basketball Game Preview: Bay Tornadoes vs. Fort Walton Beach Vikings

Bay and Fort Walton Beach are an even 3-3 against one another since December of 2021, but not for long. The Bay Tornadoes will take on the Fort Walton Beach Vikings on Friday.

Bay is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They took down Pensacola 66-48. Given the Tornadoes' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 219th, while the Tigers are ranked 465th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Fort Walton Beach, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They came out on top against West Florida by a score of 53-41 on Wednesday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Vikings as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Bay has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a massive bump to their 15-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.3 points per game. As for Fort Walton Beach, their win bumped their record up to 11-13.

Bay lost to Fort Walton Beach on the road by a decisive 61-44 margin in their previous meeting back in January. Can Bay avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
