Softball Recap: Flippin Has No Trouble Against Jasper

Flippin's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Jasper Pirates as the Flippin Bobcats made off with a 22-9 win. The matchup marked the Bobcats' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Adrianne Benedict was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over 4.1 innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-low in walks (one). She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of her six plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, Rylee Hickey was a standout: she scored four runs while going 5-for-6. What's more, she posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in March of 2024. Jozy Rehrig was another key player, going 3-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and one double.

Flippin always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .604. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Flippin's win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-1. As for Jasper, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Flippin Bobcats take on Yellville-Summit Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Jasper, they are taking a road trip to challenge Norfork at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
