Softball Recap: Oakmont Regional Comes Up Short

Oakmont Regional extended their losing streak to four on Saturday, dropping their season record down to 4-9 in the process. They fell 10-5 to the Tyngsborough Tigers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-0 last Wednesday.

As for Tyngsborough, their win was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-2-1. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.2 runs over those games.

For Tyngsborough's part, Devyn Amico was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave Amico a new career-high. Katie O'Keefe was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Oakmont Regional will take on Groton-Dunstable at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Tyngsborough, they will be playing at home against Central Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
