Softball Game Preview: Monte Vista Christian Mustangs vs. American Eagles

The Monte Vista Christian Mustangs are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season: they will square off against the American Eagles at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. American took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Monte Vista Christian, who comes in off a win.

Monte Vista Christian is headed out to face American after opening their season at home and giving their fans just what they were looking for. Monte Vista Christian put the hurt on MacDonald with a sharp 11-1 victory on Monday.

The team relied heavily on Kayla Fullalove-Silveira, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Samantha Bertoldi, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one triple.

Monte Vista Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in four consecutive games dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, American fell victim to Miramonte and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They came up short against the Matadors, falling 12-0. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it seven in a row.
