Springers fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against Maggie Walker since on Wednesday.

Freeman's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-5. As for Highland Springs, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-7.

Freeman took their win against Highland Springs when the teams last played back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 8-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mavericks since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
