Volleyball Recap: Bloom Takes a Loss

Bloom lost against Joliet Central two weeks ago, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Blazing Trojan took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Steelmen.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Joliet Central scored at least 17 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-19.

Joliet Central found their leader in freshman Luis Zurita, who had nine digs and one assist.

Bloom's loss dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Joliet Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-16 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bloom will head out to challenge Crete-Monee at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Blazing Trojan are facing the Warriors at the right time seeing as the Warriors are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Joliet Central, they will head out on the road to square off against Bolingbrook at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Raiders will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Steelmen surely won't give up without a fight.
