Soccer Game Preview: Collegiate vs. Christchurch School

The Collegiate Cougars will venture away from home to challenge the Christchurch School Seahorses at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Collegiate is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

Collegiate had to skate by with only a one-goal margin when they last took the pitch, which might have inspired the seven-goal drubbing they dealt St. Catherine's on Tuesday. The Cougars put the hurt on the Saints with a sharp 7-0 win. Collegiate might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matches by three goals or more this season.

They hit St. Catherine's with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Logan Lombard (2), Carly Barnes (2), Ryan Lewis (2), and Evie Goodwin.

Meanwhile, Christchurch School sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over Steward on Wednesday. Christchurch School haven't had any issues with Steward recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Collegiate pushed their record up to 16-0-1 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 53 goals over those 11 games. As for Christchurch School, the victory got them back to even at 3-3-3.

Everything went Collegiate's way against Christchurch School in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Collegiate made off with a 4-1 win. In that contest, the Cougars amassed a halftime lead of 3-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Thursday.
