Volleyball Recap: Peoria Panthers vs. Agua Fria Owls
After flying high against Lee Williams last Friday, Peoria came back down to earth. The Panthers lost 3-0 to the Agua Fria Owls on Tuesday. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Owls apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.
While Peoria was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-16, 25-16.
Rylan Grant paced Peoria's offense, picking up six kills. Grant got some help from Daniel Gutierrez and his 14 assists.
Agua Fria can attribute much of their success to Charles Tacker, who had 16 digs and three assists. Tacker is on a roll when it comes to digs, as he's now had 16 or more in each of the last three games he's played.
Peoria's defeat dropped their record down to 9-13. As for Agua Fria, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 17-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Peoria will welcome Eastmark at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Agua Fria, they will host Greenway at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The last three games the Demons have played have been within one set, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
