Volleyball Recap: Plainville Takes a Loss

Plainville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Phillipsburg Panthers. If the Cardinals were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Panthers when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Phillipsburg scored at least 18 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-18.

Plainville's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Phillipsburg, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Looking ahead, Plainville will face off against Russell on Tuesday. As for Phillipsburg, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 win against Alma on the 18th.
