Watson Posts Huge Game in 61-14 Win

Starting off the list is East Surry's Troy Watson, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Watson rushed for 193 yards and four touchdowns on only ten carries.

East Surry now has a winning record of 3-2. Watson and East Surry will host Forbush at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

A Season-Best Performance from Mason Jewell Leads Surry Central over West Wilkes

Mason Jewell produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Surry Central to the win on Friday. Jewell rushed for 111 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 121 yards and two touchdowns on only six passes. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 74-yard run.

The win (which was Surry Central's third in a row) raised their record to 4-2. Jewell's next match is against North Surry on Friday, where he'll look to repeat that solid performance.

Fisher Leftwich Crosses Big Stat Threshold

On Friday, North Surry got the W thanks in part to Fisher Leftwich playing the best football he has all season. Leftwich picked up 184 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 34 yards and two touchdowns. He's now once again averaging 100+ receiving yards (101.6) per game. He continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

North Wilkes had to have seen this coming; the last time they saw Leftwich it was a similar story. Back in September of 2023 (the last time Leftwich saw the Vikings), he picked up 134 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Brian Williams Turns in Season-Best Performance

Surry Central was led to victory by Brian Williams, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Williams picked up 83 receiving yards and a touchdown, and also rushed for 66 yards and a touchdown. He torched the secondary when he pulled down a catch that went for 83 yards.

This year, Williams has caught 2 touchdowns while averaging 35.8 receiving yards per game. It gets even more impressive: after six games last season, he had three rushing touchdowns. This year he is already up to six.
