Basketball Recap: Flomaton Takes a Loss

Flomaton lost against Escambia County back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Flomaton Hurricanes were beaten by the Escambia County Blue Devils 55-20. The Hurricanes were down 47-17 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Flomaton's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chloe Smith, who posted seven points. Jacie Himes was another key player, putting up six points.

This is the second loss in a row for Flomaton and nudges their season record down to 7-6. As for Escambia County, their victory bumped their record up to 9-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Flomaton won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Hillcrest at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Escambia County, they and W.S. Neal will face off at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest having both just played.
