Waterford came tearing into Friday's matchup with 14 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Westerly Bulldogs get on the board and left with a 9-0 win. The Lancers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by seven runs or more this season.

Waterford pushed their record up to 15-1 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Westerly, they moved to 10-8 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak.
