Basketball Game Preview: Jackson Generals vs. Coral Park Rams

The Jackson Generals will take on the Coral Park Rams at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Jackson is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.

Jackson is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Northwestern on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Jackson was dealt a 71-40 loss at the hands of Northwestern. The Generals were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-15.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Coral Park, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They blew past Mater Brickell Academy 66-45 on Tuesday. Given the Rams' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 278th, while the Bulls are ranked 640th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Coral Park's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-10. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.7 points per game. As for Jackson, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-11.

Jackson came out on top in a nail-biter against Coral Park in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, sneaking past 57-54. Does Jackson have another victory up their sleeve, or will Coral Park turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
