Soccer Recap: Eureka Comes Up Short

After flying high against Hazelwood Central on Wednesday, Eureka came back down to earth. The Wildcats fell just short of the Pembroke Hill Raiders by a score of 2-1 on Friday. The contest was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but Eureka couldn't quite close it out.

Eureka has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season. As for Pembroke Hill, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-3.

Coming up, Eureka will take on Blue Valley West at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Pembroke Hill, they will face off against Rockhurst at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Rockhurst's defense has only allowed 0.5 goals per game this season, so Pembroke Hill's offense will have their work cut out for them.
