Softball Recap: Peoria Panthers vs. Estrella Foothills Wolves
Peoria was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 33rd straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 15-14 heartbreaker at the hands of the Estrella Foothills Wolves. Even if the Panthers couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Pearl Badillo was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She struck out six batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and 13 unearned) runs off 12 hits (and not a single walk). Those six strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 3-for-5.
In other batting news, Genesis Parker and Aaliyah Rivas did some serious damage despite the final result: Parker scored two runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances, while Rivas scored two runs while going 4-for-5. That's the most runs Parker has posted since back in April of 2024. Ashlyn Booth was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.
Even though they lost, Peoria kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Peoria's record is now 0-11. As for Estrella Foothills, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-13.
While Peoria had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
