Volleyball Game Preview: Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Taft Toreadors

Cleveland is 1-9 against Taft since October of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Cavaliers will take on the Toreadors at 4:30 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Cleveland turned things around against Chatsworth on Monday. They blew past the Chancellors 3-0. The Cavaliers not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since September 22nd (when they won 3-0).

Cleveland never let Chatsworth on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-16, 25-21.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Taft, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out El Camino Real 3-2. The win continues a trend for the Toreadors in their matchups with the Royals: they've now won three in a row.

Taft had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 23-25, 21-25, 25-19, 26-24, 15-13.

Cleveland's victory bumped their record up to 17-13. As for Taft, their win bumped their record up to 23-11.

Cleveland beat Taft 3-1 when the teams last played two weeks ago. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cavaliers since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
