Basketball Recap: Queen's Grant Sets Scoring Season-High Against Central Cabarrus

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Queen's Grant). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Central Cabarrus Vikings 89-61. The Stallions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 22 points or more this season.

Queen's Grant found their leader in freshman Chase Smith, who went 10 for 13 on his way to 22 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Smith has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Bobby Montgomery III, who went 6 for 9 on his way to 19 points.

Queen's Grant was working as a unit and finished the game with 32 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since the start of last season.

When it comes to explaining why Central Cabarrus lost, don't look at Cayden Smith. Despite the final result, he went 7 of 10 from beyond the arc on his way to 27 points. With that strong performance, Smith is now averaging an impressive 15.2 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Infinite Morrow, who went 5 of 7 on his way to 14 points.

Queen's Grant has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.2 points per game. As for Central Cabarrus, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
