Basketball Recap: Winona Comes Up Short

Winona lost against Yazoo County back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Winona Tigers lost to the Yazoo County Panthers on the road by a 57-43 margin. The Tigers' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it five in a row.

Winona's loss dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Yazoo County, with the win, they broke their eight-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-12.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Winona Tigers take on the Amanda Elzy Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Winona is facing Amanda Elzy at the right time seeing as Amanda Elzy is stuck on a 15-game losing streak. As for Yazoo County, they will take on Humphreys County at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
