Basketball Recap: Pasadena Memorial Comes Up Short

Pasadena Memorial played a tough match on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the Pearland Oilers, falling 69-28. The loss continues a trend for the Mavericks in their matchups with the Oilers: they've now lost six in a row.

Casey Crawford was Pasadena Memorial's leading scorer, having posted six points. Emma Reeves took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with three assists.

Pearland's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Eliece Perry led the charge by almost dropping a double-double on 24 points and nine rebounds. Perry's afternoon made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Shiloh Grays, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten boards.

Pasadena Memorial's defeat dropped their record down to 4-20. As for Pearland, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 27-7 record this season.
