Football Recap: West Clermont Takes a Loss

West Clermont was the 30-0 winner over Walnut Hills when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Wolves took a 34-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles on Friday. While the Wolves had to settle for second, they closed the game well in the third quarter, where they outscored the Eagles 21-0.

Will Rivers was nothing short of spectacular for Walnut Hills: he threw for 312 yards and five touchdowns. Caylen Murray was in the mix as well, providing the Eagles with two scores.

This is the second loss in a row for West Clermont and nudges their season record down to 2-5. As for Walnut Hills, their victory ended a nine-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-5.

West Clermont and Walnut Hills could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. The Wolves will square off against Winton Woods at 7:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank disadvantage (310 vs. 57). Meanwhile, Walnut Hills (ranked 493rd) will meet Anderson (ranked second) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
