Volleyball Recap: South Fort Myers Comes Up Short

South Fort Myers was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 3-1 to the Island Coast Gators. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wolfpack of the 3-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

South Fort Myers started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 14-25, 25-20, 25-13, 25-19.

Despite the loss, South Fort Myers still got an impressive performance from Jerzi Nace, who had 21 digs and eight aces. Nace is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last three games she's played.

South Fort Myers' loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Island Coast, their record now sits at 4-5.

Looking ahead, South Fort Myers will head out on the road to square off against Lehigh at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Lightning will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Wolfpack surely won't give up without a fight. As for Island Coast, they will welcome Mariner at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
