Recap: Kaufman Lions vs. Sunnyvale
After a string of five wins, the Kaufman Lions's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. Their tough 52-32 defeat to Sunnyvale might stick with them for a while. Kaufman has not had much luck with Sunnyvale recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Aubre Prox and Ka'liyah Arps certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Prox scored 15 points, while Arps scored eight points along with three steals.
Kaufman's defeat ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 19-12. As for Sunnyvale, their victory was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 28-2.
Kaufman will take on Ford at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Ford will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 1275th, while Kaufman is ranked 380th). As for Sunnyvale, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Community at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Community is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
