Football Recap: Southern Guilford Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Southern Guilford extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping them down to 2-6. They were beaten by the Northern Guilford Nighthawks 56-7. The Storm were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 49-0.

Devaughn Jones threw for 89 yards and one touchdown while completing 73.3% of his passes. Josiah Alexander was his top target, picking up 30 receiving yards and one score. On the ground, Robert Scott rushed for 58 yards.

As for Northern Guilford, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-1. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Northern Guilford's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaxson Kemp, who threw for 143 yards and five TDs while completing 77.8% of his passes. That's the most passing touchdowns Kemp has posted since back in October of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Christopher Morrison Jr, who picked up 87 receiving yards and three scores.
