Basketball Recap: South Haven Christian Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

If South Haven Christian was riding high fresh off their 65-40 takedown of Temple Baptist Academy last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. South Haven Christian fell 63-54 to the Christian Community Colts on Thursday. South Haven Christian was not able to repeat the success they had when they faced Christian Community earlier this season, when they won 55-50.

Despite the loss, South Haven Christian still got an impressive performance from Jared White, who went 8 for 19 on his way to 22 points and five rebounds. That was a full 40.7% of South Haven Christian's points, marking the third time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aiden Hampton, who went 5 of 10 en route to 10 points and five boards.

Even though they lost, South Haven Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in eight consecutive matches.

South Haven Christian's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-7. As for Christian Community, their victory bumped their record up to 8-14.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Highland Rim Academy the next time they take the court. South Haven Christian will host Highland Rim Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while Christian Community will host them at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday.
