Football Recap: Coeur D'alene Comes Up Short Despite Tannar Stern's Big Defensive Game + How To Watch

After flying high against Sandpoint last Friday, Coeur d'Alene came back down to earth. The Vikings lost to the Camas Papermakers on the road by a 26-7 margin on Friday. The matchup was a 7-7 toss-up at halftime, but the Vikings couldn't quite close it out.

Even if they lost, Coeur d'Alene's defense still kept up the pressure with four sacks. Tannar Stern was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two himself. Coeur d'Alene got some further help from Mateo Rhea: he made 15 total tackles (1.0 for loss).

Camas' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tyson Ruggiero, who threw for 121 yards and two TDs, and also rushed for 39 yards and one score. The Papermakers' leading receiver Charlie Barr was Ruggiero's top target yet again, picking up 88 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

The loss snapped Coeur d'Alene's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-3 record. As for Camas, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Coming up, Coeur d'Alene will venture away from home to square off against Lake City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Camas, they will welcome Monroe at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Papermakers will be up against the Bearcats' rather soft defense (which has allowed 39.4 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
