Basketball Recap: Bennett Comes Up Short

After flying high against North Caroline last Thursday, Bennett came back down to earth. The Bennett Clippers fell 69-61 to the Decatur Seahawks on Saturday. The Clippers haven't had much luck with the Seahawks recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Decatur got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Davin Chandler out in front who posted 25 points. The matchup was Chandler's fifth in a row with at least 18 points. Another player making a difference was Noah Tucker, who scored 17 points.

Bennett suffered their first home defeat, dropping their record down to 17-5. As for Decatur, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 18-3.

Bennett didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 73-71 victory against Wicomico on the 17th. As for Decatur, they have also already played their next game, a 72-51 win against Parkside on the 17th.
