Softball Recap: Alice Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial, Alice was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They walked away with a 12-9 victory over the Miller Buccaneers. The Coyotes haven't had any issues with the Buccaneers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Lily Flores was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Madison Padron was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Alice hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in four consecutive matchups.

Alice's victory bumped their record up to 7-16. As for Miller, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-16.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Alice will challenge rival Ray at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Miller is set to face off against their familiar foe Gregory-Portland at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
