Basketball Game Preview: Bonners Ferry Badgers vs. Genesis Prep Academy Jaguars

Having just played yesterday, the Bonners Ferry Badgers will head out on the road to face off against the Genesis Prep Academy Jaguars at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Bonners Ferry is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.7 points per game this season.

Bonners Ferry will head into Thursday's game hoping to keep the good times rolling: they proved they can win big last Wednesday (they won by 33) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged Lakeside out 78-75. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Badgers have posted since February 5, 2024.

Sydney Hinthorn and Taren Bateman were among the main playmakers for Bonners Ferry as the former dropped a double-double on 22 points and 12 rebounds and the latter almost dropped a double-double on 22 points and nine boards. The contest was Bateman's 11th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Alexys Mierke, who posted four points along with five rebounds and four steals.

Bonners Ferry smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 27 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since the start of last season.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Genesis Prep Academy challenged Mullan on Monday. Genesis Prep Academy blew past Mullan, posting a 58-19 victory. The Jaguars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Genesis Prep Academy is also on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.2 points per game. As for Bonners Ferry, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-7.

Everything came up roses for Bonners Ferry against Genesis Prep Academy in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, as the team secured a 60-33 victory.
