Basketball Game Preview: Rudder Rangers vs. College Station Cougars

The Rudder Rangers will challenge the College Station Cougars at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. College Station took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Rudder, who comes in off a win.

On Monday, Rudder wrapped up 2024 with a 58-39 victory over El Campo. Given the Rangers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 491st, while the Ricebirds are ranked 1176th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when College Station faced off against A&M Consolidated last Friday. College Station fell just short of A&M Consolidated by a score of 57-54. The Cougars haven't had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.

Rudder's win bumped their record up to 13-8. As for College Station, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-7.

Rudder couldn't quite finish off College Station when the teams last played back in February and fell 54-51. Can Rudder avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
