Mira Costa won the last time they faced Loyola and things went their way on Friday too. The Mustangs snuck past the Cubs with a 71-65 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Mustangs.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mira Costa to victory, but perhaps none more so than Paxx Bell, who dropped a double-double with 22 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Strax Dragicevic, who posted 16 points in addition to five boards and three steals.

Loyola's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Quincy Watson, who put up 27 points. Another player making a difference was Jack Jeffery, who scored 13 points and three steals.

Mira Costa's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Loyola, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.

Coming up, Mira Costa won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Francis Parker at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Mustangs will be up against the Lancers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 60.75 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Loyola, they will face off against Santa Margarita at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
