Baseball Game Preview: TEACH Homeschool Beach Breakers vs. Northeastern Eagles

The TEACH Homeschool Beach Breakers will square off against the Northeastern Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Neither TEACH Homeschool nor Northeastern posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

While TEACH Homeschool's victory against Peninsula Catholic wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. TEACH Homeschool won by a run and slipped past Peninsula Catholic 2-1. The win continues a trend for the Beach Breakers in their matchups with the Knights: they've now won five in a row.

TEACH Homeschool got a great performance from Conner Burcker as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over 5.1 innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Thomas Bianco and Paul Schwindt did most of the damage at the plate: Bianco went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI, while Schwindt went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI. That double marked the first that Bianco hit this season.

Meanwhile, Northeastern was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against Holmes, falling 11-0. The game marked the first time this season in which the Eagles were not able to get on the board.

TEACH Homeschool's victory bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Northeastern, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.

Everything went TEACH Homeschool's way against Northeastern in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as TEACH Homeschool made off with a 19-2 win. Does TEACH Homeschool have another victory up their sleeve, or will Northeastern turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
