Baseball Recap: Guilderland Comes Up Short

The matchup between Guilderland and Proctor on Saturday hardly resembled the 2-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Flyin Dutchman came up short against the Raiders, falling 27-3. The Flyin Dutchman were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Raiders earlier this season, when they won 2-0.

Ryan Otten was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Harry Mathurin also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Guilderland's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Proctor, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.

Guilderland will take on Christian Brothers Academy at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Proctor, they will challenge Rome Free Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
