Volleyball Recap: Gilbert Comes Up Short

Gilbert was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Highland Hawks. The Tigers were not able to make up for their loss to the Hawks from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Gilbert was the model of consistency in the loss, scoring 13 points in every single set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-13, 25-13.

Among those leading the charge was Lucas Ogden, who had 12 digs. Those 12 digs gave him a new career-high.

Gilbert's defeat dropped their record down to 7-14. As for Highland, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 23-9-1.

Gilbert wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-1 loss against Desert Ridge on the 17th. As for Highland, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Williams Field on the 17th.
